What is Retirement Planning Together

Hello and welcome to Retirement Planning Together. I have always had an interest in retirement planning and especially retiring early and enjoying life a bit. Because of this I started this blog to share information and resources on retirement planning that can be found online today. I remember when I first started to think about retirement in 1999. I started thinking about how much money I would need to simply stop working and be able to support myself indefinitely.

It was very overwhelming to think about at that time because I realized that I would need significantly more than I currently had. However, I was young and had plenty of time to work but what really appealed to me was not working. I dreamed of being able to wake up when I wanted, go to sleep when I wanted, and to be able to live my life free of having a typical job. It may sound simplistic but this has always been my dream.

So, I started to look online for information about retirement planning and I found a tremendous amount of resources. There were many websites and lots of information about retirement issues and I used them all to help plan my retirement. But I realized that they were not that well organized and it occurred to me to start my own website which could organize the information on retirement planning in a more easy to use manner to help cut down on the amount of time a person would have to spend searching for this information. Therefore, I decided to start Retirement Planning Together. On this blog I will do just that. I will be providing up to date links to resources and information regarding retirement planning from across the internet. From this site you will be able to find all the information about retirement that you will need and I hope it will be truly useful. That's why I am here.

I also want to correct some misconceptions that people have about retirement. Many people believe that retirement planning is something that you start thinking about in your 60s and 70s and I simply just do not believe that this should be the case. If you want to retire, and some people do not as they would prefer to continue working full time until they die, then you need to start your retirement planning well in advance, in your teens and twenties if possible. Because the earlier you start making preparations for retirement the sooner that you will be able to achieve to retirement. It is that simple. Also, and this is somewhat related, you do not have to be in your 70s or older to retire. This is simply not true. While it is true that many people are not able to retire until they are older, I know of many people who achieved financial freedom much sooner in life and by 40 or even 35 they had said goodbye to their jobs forever. So it simply depends on what your goals are. Just know, if you don't want to you don't have to work until you die. With Retirement Planning Together we can make your dreams a reality.
